Red cabbage recipe

Need a perfect side to go with a beautiful free-range pork chop? This cooked red cabbage is another of our comfort food favourites.



  • 1/2 red cabbage, cored and sliced fine
  • 2 green apples, peeled, cored and grated
  • 1 onion, sliced thin
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 cup organic vegetable stock
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 tbsp Cherry Vinegar
  • salt & pepper to taste



Heat olive oil in a pan and sauté onions for 5 minutes.

Add in cabbage, vegetable stock, bay leaves, cherry vinegar, salt and pepper; stir well and bring to boil. Cover with a lid and turn down heat. Let cook for 20 minutes.

Add in apple, stir well and cover to let cook for further 5 minutes.

Serve with pork chops and carrots.
